As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) you will:
Performs routine, non-professional, bedside patient care within hospital policies and procedures, under the supervision of a nurse Assists patients, families, and visitors with various needs to enhance customer service Visually assesses patient safety needs Performs simple and complex procedures, i.
e.
, activities of daily living, specimen collection, glucometer checks, perform UKG's, assist with blood draws, removal of dressings, discontinue foley catheters, and other procedures/techniques Initiates BLS in emergency situations Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient, resident, personnel information, and all other hospital information.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
High school education or equivalent.
Completion of approved Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant program in the State of Iowa and active on Iowa CNA Registry or licensed as an EMT in the State of Iowa.
BLS certified within 60 days of employment.
Mandatory Reporter completed within 90 days of hire.
Must be proficient in unit specific skill stations prior to obtaining PCT status.
